The only characters to not have their talking heads with their backs to the bullpen are Michael and Jim (and Pam once she and Jim get married). This is to show that they have a future outside of the office: Michael gets married and moves to Colorado with Holly; and Jim/Pam eventually move to Austin for Jim's business. The exception to this is 'Branch Closing' where once the workers are told they are being shut down, their interviews are all at the outside window; when the news is corrected by Jan later on, their interviews are back to normal with the bullpen behind them.
