Although this is a very family-friendly movie, the scene where Lady Tottington takes Wallace up to the greenhouse on the roof of Tottington Hall is laden with sexual innuendo & symbolism. She tells him that the (somewhat phallic) 'Jacob's Ladder' elevator will take him 'all the way to heaven'. She welcomes him into 'my inner sanctum', describing it as, 'My secret garden!' (In British slag, 'a lady garden' is a woman's private parts). Later, she laments that Victor Quartermaine has, 'never shown any interest in my produce [supposedly meaning vegetables],' as she caresses a pair of ripe melons positioned in front of her chest. She invites Wallace to call her 'Totty' (British slang for a desirable woman). Victor overhears them giggling together in the greenhouse, including the exchange, "Oh Mr Wallace!" "Oh Totty!". Lady Tottington whispers to Wallace that she wants to show him something 'no other man has ever seen'; this turns out to be a giant carrot, which she invites him to, 'feel it's silken flesh... Isn't it the most sumptuous, succulent specimen you've ever seen? Doesn't it fill your heart with desire?'
