Jim Belushi was a bit of stunt casting. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd co-starred in John Landis's last big movie, The Blues Brothers - I fratelli Blues (1980). This would be Jim Belushi and Aykroyd's only film together in spite of John Belushi's long association with Aykroyd. John Belushi died in 1982, just a year before this movie came out, and likely would have played the Billy Ray Valentine part if he had lived, just as he would have played the Venkman character in Ghostbusters (Acchiappafantasmi) (1984), which also was slotted for him.
