The film never explicitly reveals who gave Harry the invisibility cloak at Christmas. In the book it's told that the cloak belonged to Harry's father, who gave the cloak to Dumbledore for safekeeping. Dumbledore then gave it to Harry, reasoning that his father wanted him to have it.
