In Canada, The Lovely Bones (mostly due to its winter release date and its tagline stating that Susie was murdered in the month of December), was marketed as a family Christmas holiday film at Wal-Mart along with the 2009 horror film Orphan when they were released on DVD despite their dark thematic content.
