This series is one of two live-action Star Trek series in the franchise that does not have an episode that takes place in the Mirror Universe. The other is Star Trek: Voyager (1995). However, the Mirror Universe counterparts of both Miles O'Brien and Worf were featured in Mirror Universe episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), because that at that point, they were both part of that series. Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973) also does not have episodes set in the Mirror Universe.
