The runes that are featured heavily in the show were deciphered by a group of American fans using the process of cryptology. Producer Atsuhiro Iwakami said he was impressed, saying that die-hard Japanese fans had not cracked the runes and that they were an invention of production design team Gekidan Inu Curry.
