After this film, director Danny Steinmann was lined up to direct a further five movies, but they all fell through. He was involved in a horrible bicycle accident that almost killed him not long after "Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning" was released and he spent years recuperating from it, and never returned to filmmaking, despite many attempts.
