(at around 42 mins) Producer Don Murphy originally planned to make G.I. Joe - La nascita dei Cobra (2009), but in 2003 he negotiated with the Hasbro Company for a Transformers (1984) film instead. However, the soldiers in the film were inspired by G.I. Joe, and one of its characters is mentioned during the Scorponok desert attack (a pilot calls for "Falcon Ops").
