Mel the minion is bald on top, with hair around the back and sides. Considering the producers' interest in the 1960s, as seen in Minions (2015), it is likely that this Minion was named after the similarly balding character Mel Cooley (Richard Deacon) from The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961).
