Braniac tells Superman that suicides are down since he "added fluoroxitine hydro-chloride to the water supply." This is the chemical name for the antidepressant Prozac. The line is also an oblique reference to the widely circulated claim in the 1950s and 60s that fluoridation of drinking water in the United States (done for dental health purposes) was actually part of a Communist mind control plot.
