After 50 minutes of run-time, in one of the main scenes of the movie, King Friedrich Wilhelm I is shown burning his son's French literature books which he doesn't approve, along with his flute in order to make him a good leader. Two years before this movie, in 1933, this event happened all around Germany when the Nazis publicly burned books of writers which they either didn't approve or didn't fit with the agenda of the Nazis, including books of Jewish writers, communist books, pacifistic books etc.
