Triffids are sensitive to sounds and can even home in on them but avoid the streets whenever they can. Triffids do employ a strategy with their victims - the louder a noise, the easier it is for the Triffids to home in on someone, meaning they have some sort of hearing. Noise can be used to distract Triffids away from you or fencing them in but they are capable of learning so you have to come up with new strategies to beat them. A scientific method is looked into to destroy the Triffids.
