The Belcher Kids and their friends attend Wagstaff Middle School, which is named for Professor Quincy Adams Wagstaff, the character played by Groucho Marx in the movie I fratelli Marx al college (1932). Compounding this nod to the Marx Bros. classic, Louise's nemesis Logan attends Huxley High School which takes its name from Huxley University, over which Professor Wagstaff presided.
