This film had a very strong box office opening weekend, however it experienced an enormous 68% drop the following week and never recovered. As such, it was considered a box office disappointment (despite grossing over $800 million). This films under-performance is believed to be one reason why Zack Snyder stepped down from Justice League (2017) as the studio did not agree with his take and wanted to make Justice League (2017) more comedic, in hopes it would perform better. Ironically, this film outperformed Justice League (2017) at the box office.
