During editing of the final scene when the truck plunges off the cliff, Spielberg immediately noted that one of the 6 cameras he had in place to capture the action managed to grab a continuous following shot of the truck's fall. This became the signature shot of the film as it captured an exceptionally good sequence of the truck and its tank flipping in and out of the dust until laying to rest upside down. As he had only one opportunity to get the shot since there was only one truck, Spielberg remarked "that cameraman deserves a medal".
