In recent years, animated movies at Disney and Pixar have generally been criticized by audiences for their constant use of twist villains. Luca managed to correct this with Ercole, who, while initially a mere unlikeable jerk from the start, slowly becomes more villainous until he crosses the Moral Event Horizon.
