In May 2022, Christopher Walken was announced to be joining the cast as Emperor Shaddam IV. Some fans have pointed out a coincidence as Walken starred in the 2001 music video for the Fatboy Slim song "Weapon of Choice", which includes the prominent lyric "Walk without rhythm, and it won't attract the worm", a quote from Dune (1984).
