The earliest version of the script involved a cop in East L.A. who was transferred to Beverly Hills. The cop's name was Axel Elly, and the non-Beverly Hills action happened in Pittsburgh. Also, it apparently didn't occur to anyone that East L.A. is an area of Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills is a completely separate and independent city; therefore, a cop in L.A. would not be "transferred" to Beverly Hills, since they are two completely different police departments.
