In the original comics, there was a character named Walter, who was one of the main antagonists of The Mask, or better known as The Big Head Killer. Walter was a mute, near-indestructible and ultra-violent gangster who becomes interested in The Mask due to the power it possessed. Despite not showing up in the film, he does make frequent appearances in the animated adaptation of this film, The Mask (1995).
