Sam Raimi's longtime friend and collaborator Bruce Campbell turned down a role because of his commitments filming Burn notice - Duro a morire (2007). This is the fourth Raimi film in which Campbell does not appear, after Soldi sporchi (1998), Gioco d'amore (1999), and The Gift - Il dono (2000) (he filmed a cameo for Pronti a morire (1995), but the scene was deleted).
