Although "A Separate Peace" was the 1972 film debut of Parker Stevenson, the director of "A Separate Peace," Larry Peerce, was five years previously also producer/director of a 1967 TV movie entitled The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Chinese Junk (1967). Then another five years after "A Separate Peace," beginning in 1977, Stevenson starred as Frank Hardy, arguably his most famous role, in TV series Nel tunnel dei misteri con Nancy Drew e gli Hardy Boys (1977), which was not produced or directed by Peerce.
