The archaic English word "overmorrow" means "the day after tomorrow", or the German equivalent "übermorgen". The Afrikaans equivalent would be "oor môre" which means "over tomorrow". This is a term with which Roland Emmerich might have been familiar. The movie could have been called "Overmorrow" for a shorter title that means the same thing.
