In his courtroom testimony, Bob Seidman recalls learning that his law associate Andrew Beckett had AIDS. "I didn't mention it to anyone, not even Andy. I didn't even give him a chance to talk about it. And I think I'm going to regret that for as long as I live." However, at the end of the film, Bob Seidman is among the guests at the memorial in Andrew Beckett's apartment, indicating that at least Andrew's family has forgiven him. (Seidman is played by Ron Vawter, the only member of the main cast who was HIV-positive.)
