Though nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for this movie, director Richard Rush's next film would not be until 1994's Il colore della notte (1994) around fourteen years later. Moreover, amazingly, that film has been Rush's only directorial outing of a cinema feature film since Professione pericolo (1980).
