The famous sketch which Rowan Atkinson walks into a tree almost got rejected from the show. Producer John Lloyd didn't get the joke and thought it was unfunny. Richard Curtis who wrote the sketch told John Lloyd that Rowan Atkinson walking into a tree was the joke and convinced him to film the sketch and after it was filmed, John Lloyd finally got the joke and realized it was about a man not paying attention when he sees the camera causing him to walk into a tree.
