Based on the Broadway play by Viña Delmar titled "The Rich, Full Life" that opened at the John Golden Theatre, 252 W. 45th St., on November 9, 1945 and ran for twenty-seven performances. According to a contemporary article in "The Hollywood Reporter", Dame Elizabeth Taylor was to star in the play, but her mother would not allow her to travel east to New York City.
