Leela Chitnis's son, actor/producer Manavendra Chitnis, produced a film, shot exclusively in New York in 1976 and titled 'New York, New York'. It starred Persis Khambatta and Sanjeev Kumar. The two actors had shot a song riding a bike in Central Park in New York. The film was shelved for financial reasons.
