The all white aircraft flown and crash landed by Anthony Newley in the film was Auster J/1 Autocrat G-AHAP and there is a photograph taken of the aircraft at Elstree available. To hid its original identity and place it in context the G was replaced with an F, making it a French registered aircraft.
