Davian's escape from capture on the bridge is very similar to that of Franz Sanchez in the James Bond Film "License to Kill (1989)". In fact, the same bridge (The Seven Mile Bridge located in the Florida Keys) was used to film both scenes in which the main villain escapes from an armored prisoner transport vehicle en route over the bridge. Both Davian and Sanchez enlisted the help of a double agent. Also the characters of Davian and Sanchez themselves are similar - both are very powerful, well connected, ruthless killers, with the exception of their trade, as Sanchez is a drug kingpin, and Davian is an arms dealer.
