Passed by the British Board of Film Censors with a "U" certificate on 5 April 1965, just in time for the European Gala Charity Premiere at the Casino Cinerama three days later. The 15-week run at the Casino ended on 21 July 1965, and was probably a lot shorter that the producers would have liked. Ironically, Pasolini's acclaimed Il vangelo secondo Matteo (1964), which had virtually no budget at all, ran at the Paris Pullman for 17 weeks.
