Dopey was initially considered for Fantasia (1940) as the apprentice in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". When Snow White asks to inspect his hands, his sleeves are too long and cover them. This visual detail was used for Mickey Mouse in Fantasia (1940). Another hint is that, when Dopey presents his hands, eight notes are played quickly by the woodwinds. These notes are almost identical to a portion of a phrase in the music of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice".
