The name, while being the first names of two characters, is also a reference to a former US president, and an attorney general and presidential candidate from the 60's. The men, both brothers and both dead by assassination, are John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States from January 20, 1961 to November 22, 1963, and Robert Francis Kennedy, the 64th US Attorney General from January 3, 1965 to June 6, 1968. John, or Jack as he was known by family and friends and JFK by the world, was assassinated "by" Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. Robert, or Bobby as he was known by family and friends or RFK by the world, was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan in Los Angeles, California.
