Several alien races from the original trilogy appear in this series. Main character Kuiil (Nick Nolte) is an Ugnaught, a race introduced in L'Impero colpisce ancora (1980). In addition to that the species Twi'leks, Trandoshans and Quarrens all reappear from Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983).
