UK podcast The Sandler Pit considered the film one of Sandler's poorer offerings and doomed the film to rot forever in their dreaded 'Sandler Pit', along with Jack & Jill and Bedtime Stories - though in a later episode ('Blended') they agree that as bad as Going Overboard is, it's not as bad as The Cobbler.
