This is a nod for the iconic slasher killer Jason Voorhees, main antagonist of the Venerdì 13 (1980) franchise. At the point of this movie, it had been premiered the first five movies of the saga: Venerdì 13 (1980), L'assassino ti siede accanto (1981), Week-end di terrore (1982), Venerdì 13 - Capitolo finale (1984) and Venerdì 13: il terrore continua (1985) (the sixth part Venerdì 13: parte VI - Jason vive (1986) was released a few months later and the rest of the franchise in later years).
