This film marked a small comeback for Dan Aykroyd as his previous film, Nothing But Trouble, which he both directed and starred in, was a huge failure with critics and audiences. Critics, especially Siskel and Ebert, were much kinder to this film and unlike most of Aykroyd's 1990s films this one did actually make a profit at the box office.
