Will Smith said that as an inexperienced actor, he would memorize the entire script of each episode instead of only his part. To help him remember his own lines, he would lip-sync the lines of the other actors during filming, much to the annoyance of the cast. There is evidence of Smith doing this in some of the early episodes of the series.
