The fight with NBA star Boban Marjanovic is reminiscent of, and perhaps in homage to, a similar scene between Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bruce Lee in Game of Death. In John Wick 2, a scene with mirrors can be said to pay homage to the climactic scene of Enter the Dragon, another Bruce Lee movie.
