Many of the scenes throughout season one are reminiscent of E.T. The Extraterrestrial. Examples include scenes with the boys riding bikes (especially when they are being chased by the scientists), and the scientists using telecom vans to listen in on the townsfolk, looking for clues to the whereabouts of their targets.
