Robert Carlyle filmed this during a break from his TV series C'era una volta (2011) in which his character sports long hair. He had to cut his hair for this movie (apart from his brief cameo as Begbie's father). When he returned to C'era una volta (2011), his haircut was written into the script with the explanation that "he felt that he needed a change". Jonny Lee Miller had a similar problem, since he had to dye his hair here. When he continued shooting his TV show Elementary (2012), his character shaved his head as part of a debt.
