According to "The Beatles Biography" by Robert Spitz, this show's producers approached The Beatles about appearing in a walk-on role, but The Beatles, who were much in demand, turned down the offer. But they did get Frankie Avalon to appear, (who was a major pop star in his own right), as well as Donnie Osmond; who appeared on the follow up show; Here's Lucy.
