According to an interview with Stephanie Beatriz, the original character of Rosa Diaz was named Megan. The character's name was changed to Rosa for her because she thought there was no way a network would hire two Latinas in its primary cast, after she auditioned for Amy Santiago and Melissa Fumero got that part.
