Director Mitch Klebanoff was worried that the producers were about to fire him, and aware that his gross negligence and lack of experience had lead to a wasteful production effort thus far. Klebanoff began telling important people in the industry that the Korean producers had stolen money and to not trust them calling them "scoundrels", therefore deflecting attention from his own incompetence.
