Several scenes in this movie echo scenes from previous James Bond movies that have featured Ernst Stavro Blofeld and S.P.E.C.T.R.E.: Bond fights with a S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Agent aboard a train (as with Donald "Red" Grant in A 007, dalla Russia con amore (1963)), there is a S.P.E.C.T.R.E. board meeting, at which a member is killed (as with Agente 007 - Thunderball: operazione tuono (1965)); Bond travels to a snow-capped mountain top clinic (as with Agente 007 - Al servizio segreto di Sua Maestà (1969)); and the villain has a base inside a crater (as with Agente 007 - Si vive solo due volte (1967)).
