When working on the TV show Tales From The Crypt, director Gil Adler had a crew he worked with that became a family unit for him and he was comfortable working with. Working on Bordello of Blood in Vancouver forced Adler to work with a Canadian crew he was not familiar with nor were familiar with the TV show. As Adler recalls in an interview, "We were in Vancouver, so the crew was all Canadian. Nobody had worked on the TV show, maybe Todd [Masters, special effects/makeup for Bordello], because we needed someone special effects-wise, but nobody else I think came up with us to make the movie."
