La famiglia Partridge (1970) mother Shirley Jones auditioned for, and almost got, the part of Marion Crane. If she had won the role of Marion, who knows if she would have been offered a wholesome family sitcom ten years later. She might have been seen as too controversial to star in such a show if she had previously starred in one of the most infamous slasher films ever.
