In the second episode, the flashback to World War II originally used a warship march melody. On the episode's first broadcast, Leiji Matsumoto, when watching, yelled "Who put that in?" and shouted that "young people will not go along with this!". Matsumoto demanded that the show was a space opera and the flashback scene risked changing it to a story of militarism. It took a big fight between Matsumto and Yoshinobu Nishizaki before different music (requiem music) was put into the episode.
