All of MGM's Technicolor pictures from 1934-1956 opened with Tanner the Lion as the studio's trademark "Leo the Lion" in its famous logo, but because this film starts in sepia tone, the logo with Jackie the Lion in this role, used for MGM's black and white films up until 1956, was used instead, tinted in sepia. This film is that specific lion's notable and most-recognizable on-screen appearance at the start of a film from the studio.
