There's a misunderstanding that Hans Zimmer only produced Klaus Badelt's score for this film, and didn't work on it himself at all. In fact, Zimmer composed the main themes of the film (one of them was reused from his score from Omicidio nel vuoto (1994)), while Badelt did the rest. This was confirmed with the release of the CD of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", which has a leaflet that mentions this.
